Call (916) 810-1930Telehealth OptionCan my primary care doctor treat mental health conditions?
Yes. Our primary care physicians can diagnose and treat common mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, and ADHD. We prescribe medications, provide initial counseling, and coordinate referrals to therapists or psychiatrists when specialized care is needed.
What mental health conditions do you treat?
We treat depression, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety, ADHD, adjustment disorders, and stress-related conditions. For severe mental illness such as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, we coordinate care with psychiatrists while managing your overall health.
Do you prescribe antidepressants and anxiety medications?
Yes. We prescribe SSRIs, SNRIs, and other psychiatric medications when medically appropriate. We monitor your response, adjust dosages, and manage side effects during regular follow-up appointments to ensure the best outcome.
Does insurance cover mental health treatment?
Yes. Under the Mental Health Parity Act, insurance plans must cover mental health services at the same level as physical health care. Most plans cover diagnosis, medication management, and therapy with standard copays. We accept Medicare and Medi-Cal.
Is my mental health visit confidential?
Absolutely. All visits are confidential under HIPAA. For minors ages 12–17, California law allows confidential mental health services in many situations without parental notification. Our team provides a safe, judgment-free environment for all patients.
